London Restaurant Festival 2018 on behalf of Bookatable

I can’t believe it is almost a year since we got the pleasure to have Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester on behalf of Bookatable.

This year has flown by, and although a lot has changed as it often does, one thing that stays consistent is my love of food, and eating out. Date nights are few and far between since having Joseph, but actually, now he is getting a little older, we love having him being a part of them. When I was given the opportunity to dine out and review the Autumn Menu at Hawksmoor on behalf of Bookatable, I was thrilled. Initially I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to have a special date night, but on the other hand I thought it would be extra special to experience Hawksmoor with the little guy (seeing as though we spend most of our date nights talking about him or looking at photos of him)

We had a fun day out in London and then headed to Hawksmoor,Borough Market, for our 5pm booking. We have been lucky enough to dine at Restaurant Ours, and The Dorchester on behalf of Bookatable, and as with both of those visits, this one certainly didn’t disappoint. The restaurant itself was cosy and intimate but we also felt so comfortable being there with Joseph as they were so accommodating. The set menu itself was £25 for a two course and a gin based cocktail. We both opted for the potted Yorkshire Puds with bacon and onion gravy to start.

Ribeye Steak for main (accompanied with Creamed spinach, Chips and Mac & Cheese.. which I must add that you have to pay extra for the sides which as always, does tend to bring the bill up)

and finally  for desert, I chose the Peanut butter shortbread with salted caramel ice cream, whilst Ad chose the Sticky Toffee pudding with cream, which were both AMAZING. Of course, like with most set menus, you day end up paying over the set amount (as mentioned, sides, drinks etc) but that’s always to be expected. When we get the opportunity to go out, we do tend to relax and not worry so much as it isn’t something that we get to do as often as we did pre Parenthood.

As always, the Festival Menus never disappoint and I would always be the first to recommend them to anyone.

Please note: Due to the Restaurant being quite dark, this effected my camera/photo quality – even though the food still looks amazing as it was, the photo’s don’t do them as much justice.
