Since having Joseph Sudocrem has been a staple product for us! Even more so in the Summer months & what a Summer we have had – however due to the heat and having to up Josephs water intake, his nappies have been very heavy throughout the night causing nappy rash!
Nappy rash has never been a huge problem for Joseph, however I do think Sudocrem has played a huge part in that. When Sudocrem asked me if I would like to try out their new product, the timing was perfect! My little guy is just entering into another joyful ‘Teething’ period.. 5teeth down how many to go?! Teething and bad nappies seem to go hand in hand, so there is no better time for us to try out the ‘Sudocrem Care & Protect’
Sudocrem Care & Protect is a nappy rash ointment – designed specifically for babies – that offers triple protection against nappy rash at every nappy change:
1. Creating a protective barrier that seals in the skin’s natural moisture and protects even the most delicate skin against external irritants.
2. Conditioning the skin – Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5 helps to protect the skin and keep it soft, healthy and moisturised.
3. Guarding against infection – As well as sealing in the good stuff, Sudocrem Care & Protect acts as a barrier to protect delicate skin from the bad stuff, like the chemicals in urine and poo, and from chafing and rubbing.
Because Sudocrem Care & Protect is just for your baby, it is hypoallergenic and has been dermatologically tested. It is also free from artificial colours and preservatives.
SCP also won Product of the Year 2015 in the category of ‘Best Nappy Cream.’
On first glance, the product so far has ticked some boxes. Now Joseph is getting older, I don’t always have to use his changing bag, so size wise this is perfect to pop into my handbag or his little rucksack! It looks like a friendly product too if that makes sense. Some products can look very ‘medical’
For a start, it is easy to open which is quite a contrast to the ‘Original’. I can understand why that is the case, possibly for baby safety reasons HOWEVER it can be tricky when you are trying to multi task with a wriggling baby! The ‘Care & Protect’ is easy to open but would still be difficult for baby to do so!
Now the real test. I felt like I was putting a lot of faith in to this product! As predicted, Joseph has developed red and painful nappy rash. The box made for a perfect distraction for him while I applied it. It is of a creamy and thick consistency, but not as much as the original. Even when applying it, the cream just instantly seemed a lot more soothing. I felt as though I didn’t have to put as much pressure on to Josephs bottom when applying it as I do with the original. It has a light smelling aroma too, almost lavender’ish! Of course the test wasn’t over until I could see it was effective. I could honestly tell the difference within a couple of nappy changes and Joseph seemed in less pain when I was holding him too so it was definatley doing what it should be.
A little goes along way with this product, however if your looking for a cost effective option I would say the original pot is more your go to! For me, I will definatley be using a combination of the two as it is ideal for keeping in my bag when on the go!
The reason I love and would recommend ‘ Care & Protect ‘ is because I think it is ideal to use when out and about. Nappy changing when out can be time consuming enough without nappy rash being brought into the equation. I think this product allows you to get the job done quicker as it isn’t as thick and you can wash it off of your hands quicker – it’s a yes from us!
